The Background

 Since CBS began trading in 2005 they’ve enjoyed phenomenal growth, becoming one of the leading names in employment screening.

Founded by Rachel Bedgood, Managing Director, they provide background and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Checks for companies and individuals. 

From humble beginnings in the South Wales valleys they now work on behalf of many high profile companies and organisations in the public and private sector, across the United Kingdom. Providing tens of thousands of checks for their clients each year.

Core to their success and a fundamental aspect of the company ethos is a focus on exceptional customer service and rapid turnaround times.  

Critical to their exceptional service and delivery is the need to have a robust IT network able to meet a changing business environment. In addition, effective communication systems, minimised downtimes and rapid response were seen as business critical components of their IT support.

Given the sensitive nature of CBS’ work, putting a plan in place to ensure that they could be in a position to ‘Keep Calm & Carry On’ should an unforeseen event occur, was imperative. Working in consultation with the management, we could ensure that business critical services could continue and customer requirements could be fulfilled in the unlikely event of disaster strike.

At its core was the implementation of a robust backup system, ensuring that essential data would be retrievable if there was a major failure. Again, a crucial aspect when dealing with sensitive personal data processes.

However, business continuity, in line with business growth, is an integral aspect of the consultancy and support provided to CBS by Red Tree.

Contingencies in the event of disruption have been developed, including maintaining lines of communication with customers, as part of an overall robust IT infrastructure.

Evolving Scalable Support

As a business experiencing high growth, in line with a reputation for exceptional service and delivery, CBS have needed an IT service with the ability to evolve and grow in line with their own progression.

Initially this came about in the form of working with the MD to custom build a PC to her specifications. This escalated into a company roll-out of similar spec PCs and management of hardware in the business.

Evolving with technology advances and business growth, the Red Tree support has helped migrate the business to the cloud-based Office 365.

The move has helped streamline material costs while further mitigating against downtime and unforeseen disruption. The migration reflects the changing requirements of a business that’s embraced the need for mobile data access and communications.

Adopting a consultancy approach to the IT support, Red Tree have delivered an evolving and flexible service reflective of CBS’ growth in their marketplace.
